4/28/2008: There will not be class on Wednesday. On Friday, your final paper is due. As for final exams, that depends on which section you are in. If you are in section 17 (10:00), your exam is Monday at 10:00. If you are in section 21 (11:00), your exam is Wednesday at 10:00. Both 'exams' will be in the same place we normally have class. The exam will consist of you coming in and collecting your portfolio and, if you want it, your final paper. That's all.
If for some reason you want to come to the other final, you need to tell me ahead of time so I know to bring your stuff that day. And if you don't want anything back, you need to let me know so that I don't lug it around.

4/14/2008: Your portfolios are due at the beginning of the last week of class. That will be Monday, April 28. If you think you might want to use your in class essay in the portfolio, you have three options: 1- ask me to grade it quickly, and come to my office Friday afternoon before 2:45, so you have time to fix it. 2- ask to take the exam early; we may be able to work something out. 3- use your own best judgment to make the paper as good as you possibly can when you hand in the portfolio. Otherwise, there are only three papers to choose from, so all of your papers will be in the portfolio. You must hand in your portfolio if you wish to pass the class.

4/13/2008: I have decided to change the test date. I told all of you that the essay exam would be Monday, April 21. I have decided to push it back to FRIDAY, April 25. That is the one day of the semester you CANNOT miss.
Section 21, remember that there will be a test on Call of Cthulhu Wednesday. Section 17, be prepared as well, just in case. Also remember that 8 pages of response are due Wednesday at the start of class. (as well as 3 good essay questions on the sources we have covered so far)

There is a movie April 14 in the Sandberg union theater (basement of union) at 8:30 pm. We will be watching 1408. 2 pages of response to this movie are due on Wednesday. Remember: a response paper is your RESPONSE to the movie, not a summary of what happened. Same goes for stories. Responses are times for you to think about what you liked or didn't like and why, not just what happened.

The extra credit assignment is due on Friday April 25 (same day as the exam). If you are planning to take advantage of it, it is due on or before that day, no exceptions.

Remember, there IS a movie tonight (April 7) in the Sandberg union theater (basement of the union) at 8:30 pm. We will be watching FRAILTY.

4/7/2008: There has been a change in plans. We WILL have class on Friday April 11th. The schedule has been changed accordingly.

4/4/2008: It has recently been pointed out to me that I am an idiot. I apparently scheduled class to continue for an extra week. Rather than cutting down the time we will be spending on the exam, I have cut down what comes after it. The revised and relatively final schedule is available now.

4/3/2008: Your papers are due tomorrow. Some people have been asking if they need to hand in sources. The short answer is maybe. The longer answer is that if you are not sure if your source is legit, hand it in. Otherwise, as long as you have a good annotation in your bibliography, that will be fine.

As of tomorrow, we are studying horror. The way to do that is to go to the horror site. You can get back here from there if you need to. But all assignments are on that page.
